Greenville Technical College officials have scheduled an open house for displaced students of ITT Technical Institute.
The college said it will offer two sessions on Sept. 19 to show ITT Tech students the college and give an overview of the college’s admissions process. The sessions will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the college’s Advising and Registration Center at 225 South Pleasantburg Drive.
ITT Educational Services Inc., the parent company of ITT Tech, announced the decision to close its campuses on Sept. 6 in the midst of multiple state and federal investigations, according to a U.S. Department of Education news release.
The Department of Education sanctioned ITT Tech, barring it from enrolling any new students who rely on federal financial aid for educational expenses. ITT reported nearly $850 million in total revenue in 2015, and about $580 million of that came from federal financial aid.
ITT had campuses in Columbia, Greenville, Myrtle Beach and North Charleston.
