Ten at the Top presents the third installment of the Shaping Our Future Continuing Education
Workshop Series: Exploring Transit Oriented Development: Who, What, When, Where, How and
Why sponsored by Upstate Forever. This workshop will explore how Upstate planners, planning
commissions, elected officials and residents can encourage and direct TOD development to meet major
consumer groups’ evolving demands and expand choices for more affordable living in the Upstate.
This presentation is part of a larger educational series stemming from the Shaping our Future Growth
Alternatives Analysis, an eye-opening study released by Upstate Forever in 2017 in partnership with
Ten at the Top and the Riley Institute at Furman University. Keynote speaker Jason Lawrence, an expert
in Transit Oriented Development, will cover TOD basics including what it is and why it is an important
topic for decision-makers to explore now. Tickets are $10 and include admission and dinner.
