Anderson University at its Board of Visitors meeting formally welcomed Arthrex, Inc. to the community amid the global medical products manufacturers’ ongoing construction of its new Anderson County manufacturing and operations facility.
President Evans P. Whitaker, AU’s senior leadership team and its Board of Visitors welcomed Eddie Simmons, Director of Reliability at Arthrex, at a breakfast meeting at the G. Ross Anderson, Jr. Student Center. Around 200 attended the event.
“We are so appreciative of Arthrex and its ongoing interest in Anderson University,” Dr. Whitaker said. “We look forward to a continued partnership that will help both of our organizations now and in the future.”
Simmons said the quality of Anderson County’s workforce, along with the training schools like Anderson University provide to its next generation of employees, were attractive to Arthrex officials as they looked for locations for their 253,000-square foot manufacturing facility and adjacent 32,000-square foot central services complex.
“We are here, and are a part of this community,” Simmons said.
