Crawford Strategy, a full-service marketing and branding agency, won two Mercury Awards and three Silver Wing Awards from the South Carolina chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) at an annual ceremony recently held in Charleston. The organization hosts the event for public relations professionals to gather and recognize excellence within the industry. The Mercury Awards honor top campaigns while the Silver Wing Awards distinguish outstanding public relations tactics.
Crawford Strategy received Mercury Awards for two of the agency’s travel and tourism clients. This included the third consecutive Mercury Award of Excellence for Crisis Communications & Issues Management. The agency worked closely with the North Myrtle Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau to plan and respond to the impact of Hurricane Florence. In the Marketing Consumer Products category, a Mercury Award of Merit was given for Haywood County Tourism Development Authority’s Hay Now! campaign that brought to life the quirky spirit of the North Carolina destination and drove awareness for its charming hidden gems.
“This competition evaluates strategy, creativity and results, and so it is a real honor for our team to have such a wide variety of work recognized,” said Senior Vice President of Client Strategy Andy Windham. “I am particularly proud that, for the third straight year, our team was singled out for its strategic and compassionate support of our coastal communities.”
The agency’s three Silver Wing Awards rewarded specific communications tactics. An Award of Merit within the Executive Communications category recognized the strategic announcement of United Community Bank’s new president and CEO. An Award of Merit for search engine marketing for Southern Wesleyan noted increased awareness about the university and its online degree programs. An online video, ‘What it Takes,’ produced for Sumter Police Department, garnered an Award of Excellence for its creative execution and strong results.
“The Mercury and Silver Wing Awards showcase South Carolina’s finest within the public relations industry, and we take pride in seeing our work and results recognized by peers,” said Manager of Public Relations Emily Moseley. “At Crawford Strategy, we aim to support our clients’ goals by telling their stories in compelling ways, and we are pleased that our strategic thinking and intelligent execution has resonated with many audiences.”
