Fork & Plough Makes Donation to Chamber Minority Business Accelerator Initiative

In celebration of their second anniversary, Fork and Plough donated $3,200 to the Greenville Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) initiative.
The restaurant celebrated their second anniversary on June 15 and donated 75 percent of net food sales to the MBA program.
“As a small business, we understand the importance of investing where it matters,” says Shawn Kelly, Chef and Owner of Fork and Plough. “Our team wants to advocate for diverse businesses and dining experiences in the Upstate and that starts with financial support. We collectively wanted to do something to move the needle, and that’s why we were proud to partner with the Greenville Chamber and the MBA program.”
The MBA program prepares locally-based minority business enterprises for growth through business development services, mentoring, technical assistance and access to large corporations for partnership opportunities. This is the only program of its kind in the Upstate, and one of only six in the nation offered by Chambers of Commerce.
According to Greenville Chamber President/CEO, Carlos Phillips, “The restaurant industry has been hit especially hard during this pandemic, so for Shawn and the Fork and Plough team to make a donation to the MBA program at this time shows their unwavering dedication to seeing our entire community prosper. It is actions such as this that make Greenville’s small business community so unique and special. On behalf of the MBA participants and alumni, as well as the Greenville Chamber team, I thank Shawn and his staff at Fork and Plough for this generous contribution.”
